Willie Carey

Willie graduated with honours from the School of Architecture UCD in 2000, when he joined O’Donnell + Tuomey. He was appointed Associate in 2006, Associate Director in 2013 and Director in 2018. Willie set up our Cork branch office in 2008, where he is now based. He was in charge of various projects based in Cork, including St' Angela's College and the UCC Student Hub.

Willie was previously leading the teams for three of the practice Stirling Prize finalists: Glucksman Gallery UCC, Irish Language Arts and Cultural Centre Derry and London School of Economics Student Centre, coordinating all aspects of the projects from initial design to completion.

Willie has also been involved in a number of competition winning entries with ODT, including the Pearse Street Development Plan for TCD, Coleraine Museum and Library, John Lewis Store, Sheffield, and Lyric Theatre Belfast. He was the Associate in Charge for The Photographers’ Gallery, London, the restoration and extension of an existing building on a busy side street in a conservation context off Oxford Street.
